Sofia –Rila monastery - Plovdiv
After breakfast departure to the Rila monastery, the biggest and the most impressive monastery in Bulgaria, dating back to the National Revival period (18-19th century A.C.), which rises amidst the beautiful Rila Mountain (UNESCO). In the monastery you will visit the original monastery kitchen from the 19th century and the monastery’s museum. The journey continues to Plovdiv. Overnight
Plovdiv is the country’s second largest city, one of the most attractive and vibrant Bulgarian towns, situated in the Upper Thracian valley, along the two banks of Maritza River, scattered upon six unique syenite hills. Sightseeing tour through the new and the old town. The architecture of the Old Plovdiv (The Three Hills) is a mixture the different styles dating back to the Thracians, Rome, Byzantium and middle ages. It has narrow cobbled streets, pretty houses with small windows and pillars, oak gates and silent green gardens with rippling marble fountains. Each of the houses has its own style. Visit to the Roman Amphitheater, the most astounding sight from the roman times, the Balabanov House and the Ethnographic museum, located in a house from the national revival period in a typical baroque style, built in 1847 with a splendid green garden. Visiting of the Dzhumaja mosque, one of the oldest and biggest Ottoman religious buildings on the Balkans. Plovdiv – Kazanlak – Veliko Tarnovo
Depart to Kazanlak, a town, located in a romantic Valley of Roses, known also as the town of roses and Thracian kings. Visit a rose distillery near Kazanlak ,where you will see demonstration of the authentic process of rose oil distillation and see the modern working distillery, near the old onand taste rose-liqueur and rose jam. Visit to the town’s Historical museum with its New Treasury Hall, in which the newest golden, silver and bronze finds from the Thracian temple tombs in the region are exhibited. The journey continues through the beautiful green slopes of the Balkan Range. Visit Etara, an open-air ethnographic and architectural complex, known for its lovely old houses, small shops with wooden shutters and master craftsmen of gold, silver, leather and wooden articles. Veliko Tarnovo – Arbanasi – Veliko Tarnovo
After breakfast continue to Arbanassi, (near Veliko Tarnovo) a picturesque medieval settlement and an architectural reserve, situated on a high plateau with a view to the hills of Tzarevetz and Trapezitza. After a walk through the museum village, visit to the Konstancaliev`s house, a large house fortress with rich decoration of ornaments. Enjoy the lunch in a private house in Arbanasi and taste homemade Bulgarian dishes. Return in Veliko Tarnovo. City tour through the medieval capital of the second Bulgarian State, rapidly expanded during the 12-14th century A.C., turned into the strongest Bulgarian fortress. Visit to the impressive Tsarevets fortress, the old Marketplace “Samovodska Tcharshia” and other exciting landmarks. Overnight at hotel. Option: Visit to the “Sound and Light” show in Veliko Tarnovo
Veliko Tarnovo – Sofia
Departure to Sofia. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon for shopping, take a walk on the main shopping street in Sofia and have some fun in the city mall. Overnight at hotel.
